Roof Restoration in Sydney

A roof restoration is a way to add years back to a roof that's ageing rather than damaged: stained, covered in moss or algae, but structurally sound. It's a more involved process than a spot repair, and typically takes 2 to 4 days depending on how much work is needed.

Roof Restoration in Sydney services

Roof coating

What the restoration process actually involves

The roof is inspected first, and any broken tiles or cracks are identified and repaired. Pressure cleaning follows, removing dirt, lichen and mould that's built up over time. Ridge capping is reset, then a protective coating is applied.

On a terracotta tile roof specifically, any loose tiles are re-bedded and re-pointed as part of the same job, not every tile, only the ones that actually need it.

Why restore rather than replace

A well-sealed, restored roof holds up better against future leaks and stops as much conditioned air escaping through a worn roof surface, which is where any energy-efficiency benefit actually comes from rather than anything more specific than that. Restoration extends the working life of a roof that's still structurally sound, without the cost of a full replacement.

What affects the price

What does this actually cost?

Anyone quoting a firm price before seeing your roof is guessing. What we can tell you is what drives the number:

Roof area

The single biggest factor.

Extent of damage

A targeted repair costs less than restoring or replacing a whole roof.

Access

Roof pitch, height and site access all affect the job.

Material

Colorbond, tile and slate carry different costs and different lifespans.

What's there now

Removing an existing roof or gutter system costs more than working on a prepared surface.
